Man O war Anambra state command Rescue team on the Crises In Awka As Soap Oil Tanker Falls At Arroma Junction
The investigation by the rescue team of the Anambra state command of the man o war, ably led by the OC Rescue of the state command, SM Prince Agim Eliezer, was seen as a saving hands of God at work yesterday Wednesday at the popular Aroma Junction, Awka, as a tanker driver prevented scores of death and injuries by diverting his truck to the pavement of flyover where it fell sideways.
No life was lost, but the driver and conductor sustained some injuries. When the rescue team of the man o war arrived the scene of the incident, it was gathered that the vehicle with the registration of number ‘UKP771XA’ was conveying a soap oil from Amansea to Onitsha, before the incident took place. Along with some journalists from ABS who were at the incident scene, the anambra state rescue team head, SM Prince Agim enquired from the tanker driver, Mr. Kevin Ogu from Imo State on the cause of the incident. The driver explaining, thanked God that no life was lost, but blamed a driver of a fully loaded bus for stopping in front of him after the traffic regulator from Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency had given them signal to move. The driver said that after he had tried several attempts to stop his vehicle, his brake failed him, adding that instead of diverting the tanker at the busy park at the junction which would have caused much death, he moved it to the pavement of the flyover where it fell.
The content which spilled on the road in front of ABS Corporate Headquarters caused another accident that led to the summersault of a school bus. However, the fire service was promptly notified and they came to came the situation In his remarks, the Anambra state rescue officer, SM Prince Agim gave warnings to bus drivers who constantly parked along the busy express road by the bridge side. He however regretted the shortfalls in personnels to Mann critical areas of the traffic ends which would have averted this crises. He advocated for man o war personnels to be engaged to fix this deficiencies in traffic ends. He also pledge the state commander, A.S Egbo Egbo led anambra state MOW administration to work in hand with the state traffic agencies to curb future crises. He pointed that man o war has over a 100 of men on ground who are trained to provide critical solution to the manpower needs of the state government. The MOWN Rescue Chief further extend the top agenda of the Comander Egbo led administration which is to ensure that MOW upon been engaged can collaborate to fix anambra traffic quagmire and make it safe now as we approach the ember month.
